A "chukka" is a lightweight, low boot with three lace-holes, originally used by British desert forces during WWII, but later popular with polo players and factory workers who did not need bulky footwear. This variant is made with premium Briar Oil Slick leather in a dark maroon colour.
Red Wing's classic Work Chukka sports an Atlas Tred polyurethane outsole, sewn to the upper with a full Goodyear welt. The boots are reinforced with a large toe cap and extra leather at the heel. Red Wing tans their own leather in Minnesota, using oils which proof it against water, dirt and sweat. The leather requires a break-in period and responds well to polish.
Made in USA. This model is part of the Red Wing Heritage collection which revives the brand's original models and production methods.
