Sanders Aintree is a premium derby brouge, which means that the side panels (which tie the shoe together) are sewn on top of the front of the shoe. This construction method is typical of casual shoes that are designed to be easy to repair and thus last for a vast amount of years. A brouge shoe is a timeless classic, originally used for work outdoors. The design has since developed the brouge with its perforations into a choice for gentlemen. Sanders Aintree is lined with leather throughout and is softer and lighter than mountain boots and work boots.
The sole is made of thick leather with a rubber block in the heel. If the boot is to be used for everyday use, we recommend dressing the sole with rubber at a shoemaker. Use the leather sole slightly first to secure a good fit for the rubber.
Handmade at Sanders & Sander's traditional workshop in Rushden, Northamptonshire. Sanders has since 1873 produced some of the best shoes in the UK.
